โFor the Ordinance
โAgainst the Ordinance
FROM NANCY HENJIUM'S
FINAL COMMENTS
"This is fraught with high emotions coming from many different perspectives" "We should take advantage of this incredible opportunity [to vote on this annexation]"
"How do we stay economically healthy and vibrant as a city?"
"How do we provide necessary housing?"
"How do we live within our ecological means and consider the impact on everyone who needs these resources be them energy or water or services?"
"We should be using this not just to vote on this annexation but to lead the conversation on how we develop and stay vibrant in the west with limited resources"
This is about what kind of city we want to be:
๐๏ธ Itโs Our choice โ Disconnected sprawl or smart growth within our footprint

Imagine of Karman line annexation on a map
With text- Karman Line Annexation
Ballots Mailed May 23
Aprox. 1900 Acres

CITY COUNCIL CHOSE TO PUT THE KARMAN LINE ANNEXATION TO A VOTE OF COLORADO SPRINGS
RESIDENTS
INSTEAD OF OVERTURNING THEIR DECISION TO ANNEX THE CITY WILL SPEND APROX $500K
FOR AN ELECTION ON JUNE 17TH
Reasons Beautiful Colorado Springs doesn't support this greenfield annexation growing Colorado Springs footprint
โข Not a adjacent to the city
โข Slow emergency response times that will further stretch police & fire departments
โข High water use single family development
โข Car-Focused - Residents will be required to drive increasing congestion, pollution and crashes
โข Farmers downstream are worried about water going to this instead of farming
โข Not enough density to support/ pay for infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, electric, police, fire)
โข Development like this will cost Colorado Springs residents

Lynette Crow-Iverson - no

Cherry creek trail in downtown Denver
Looking southbound on the newish bi-directional bike lane on Broadway there are still 3 one way vehicle lanes, parking on both sides, a bus lane and this bike lane
Looking north bound on the newish bi-directional bike lane on Broadway riding against 3+ lanes of one way traffic feels a bit weird, and the bike signals are a must but itโs a nice connection. Now to get it added to google maps.

Colorado lawmakers take major step toward repealing Labor Peace Act
The World War Two-era law requires unions to take two votes before they can represent workers in labor negotiations.
The requirement of two votes is an unnecessary hurdle that discourages unionization. The Labor Peace Act is a relic of the past and does not support todayโs workers. #coleg
