No chance of Reform winning in Grangetown.
11.08.2025 13:53 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Number of FBPE-ers defending the proscription of PA is genuinely incredible, if not unsurprising.
11.08.2025 11:58 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Do you *honestly* believe that breaking into a building constitutes terrorism?
11.08.2025 11:17 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Apologies for any spoilers! 😂
11.08.2025 10:51 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0..and Reform/the right won't get the numbers.
11.08.2025 10:51 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0They gloss over the new system way too much, it's straight up PR for the first time so there are a lot of unknowns as every vote counts. There's also a suggestion, even from the "expert", that Reform could form a government. That just won't happen, the new system is geared towards coalition..
11.08.2025 10:51 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Plaid often poll well but fail to deliver on election day, but they've repositioned as a party for all of Wales which is finally cutting through. They also tended to do slightly better in the regional lists which suggests a better showing under the new system.
11.08.2025 10:49 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0And I think it probably underplays Labour's hand given how entrenched support is for the party in parts of Wales and that they have the biggest party machinery by far.
11.08.2025 10:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Apart from a few glaring inaccuracies and omissions it's broadly accurate in terms of who the biggest party will be; could be any of Reform/Plaid/Labour. I think they possibly overplay Reform's chances given that it's unknown how many will *actually* turn out for them.
11.08.2025 10:47 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Good luck in Sweden, if you're planning to move there you presumably know their Reform equivalent is the second biggest party and props up their right wing government!
11.08.2025 08:32 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0*obviously it won't.
11.08.2025 08:29 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Events of the latest decade have demonstrated that the west is A-OK with the murder of journalists and at least Israel are finally admitting it. Wonder if it will prompt any self-reflection for British journos*

07.08.2025 20:33 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 050% of Welsh over 65s see the party as a party for Welsh speakers – but this falls to 27% among 25-49 year olds and 14% among 16-24 year olds, 37% of whom instead see Plaid Cymru as a party for all Welsh people.
Interesting bit from the YouGov poll on Tuesday. Suggests Plaid's excellent(?) meme game may be cutting through.

29.07.2025 16:32 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Very well put as usual Pete. Legacies finally on the line I suppose, who wants to be the PM that waved though the ethnic cleansing of Gaza (even if, as you correctly say, it's been going on for a year and a half).

28.07.2025 20:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It is pretty noticeable that even as mainstream opinion on Israel and Gaza finally shifts, you don’t hear the Responsible Adults apologizing for punishing all the college kids protesting the atrocities. Quite the opposite in fact!

28.07.2025 18:36 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.
Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.
