Found a cute bee yesterday in an arrowleaf balsamroot flower. Looks to be a furrow bee, Halictus sp., I think H. ligatus. The vast majority of native bees are solitary, but H. ligatus is "primitively eusocial," meaning it nests communally and even has division of labor among females. 🐙🌿 #insects
