It's fairly clear from the company's actions in the past 2-3 months they're trying to drag the company towards the right, either to attract conservative investors, to defeat the MAGA assertion that the service is 'liberal Twitter' or, ultimately, the mask has truly fallen off and they don't care.

That and because it could potentially reduce the value of the protocol and Bluesky as a brand, it will be something perpetually stuck on the back burner or kicked down the road.
