I forgot I had a paper due in my Shakespeare class until the
night before, so I went to my memory and wrote a brilliant one comparing The Simpsons version of Hamlet to Mel Gibson’s and the prof loved it.

Writing pad and fountain pen in a brown leather portfolio on a diner booth table.

Writing longhand in a restaurant the way god and David Mamet (before he went batshit) intended. I’m using a nice writing pad as @johnrogers.bsky.social intends instead of my cheap legal pads as well.

I just started Murder in a Small Town, which is on Fox of all places with only 8 episode seasons. So far I’m digging it. I’ve also been watching the five Agatha Christie movies (limited series?) Sarah Phelps did on BritBox and enjoying most of them.

A Powerhouse Writer Found One Word to Change the Debate About Tech

Delighted that Cory is having a moment with "Enshittification," because it's an accurate word for what's happening in tech and he's the right person to describe it.

Itβ€˜s all the subtle clues from years of following @mdbell79.bsky.social The same thing happened to me. There’s something about the intensity of clenched fists and feet hitting the ground and the sweating that make me forget the world and literally force the stress from my body.

The weather is gorgeous out, my meds are working right, I look good and feel good, so I wanted to document it.

Elden Ring is an absolutely gorgeous game with a decent story, but Horizon Zero Dawn is beautiful as well and so much fun to play (robot dinosaur fighting!) and the story is heartbreaking and brilliant and a little too close to home these days.

I obviously need to play more, but finding new games is hard. I was lucky someone from my DnD group wanted to run a Shadowdark campaign.

I just for some new stationary specifically for fountain pen notes. I already have a robust collection of stationary for typewriter letters. I am a full on @rachsyme.bsky.social disciple.

Book cover of From the Dust by David Stinson

I’ve been a big @dswinson.bsky.social fan from way back and love his mix of Pelecanos and Michael Connelly style, but this one is more rural and small town but just as great.

That was the last time it felt truly social. I was meeting new people regularly and deepening relationships with older friends and finding weird and random rabbit holes that almost always led to story or novel ideas. RIP
