When I was a kid, my dad pulled me aside and told me that the people I need to be kindest to are the poorest because this capitalist world we live in forgives you anything but it shames you deeply and never forgives you for being poor. To make this clear, the media need to walk people through what happens when tariffs goods arrive in a US port. Who has to fork over the tariff money? The US importer. Where does the money go? The US Treasury. It's a tax.
