Fact-checking what Project 2025 says about the National Weather Service and NOAA As Florida braced for Hurricane Helene, some weather and politics observers were mad about Project 2025.

Project 2025 describes NOAA as a primary component โ€œof the climate change alarm industryโ€ and said it โ€œshould be broken up and downsized.โ€

We're well! We are presently surviving our children and attempting to cause as little trauma for them and ourselves in the process as possible. ๐Ÿคฃ

I've read #TheStarlessSea by @erinmorgenstern.bsky.social half-dozen times now, but each re-reading is a newly-opened door, the threshold crossing of which never seems to lose its wonder.

May it be an instant boost in mood for you as well:

The that-feeling of arriving at the next stoplight the same time as the egomaniac who passed you and all, speeding/swerving through traffic to no avail.

Offer them a happy-holidays wave.

Also, most folks simply aren't trained to do research and--in my experience--tend to confuse it for reading an article or two.

Why is "Do your own research" terrible advice? Because of confirmation bias and motivated reasoning.

People with a distrust of experts and consensus in a given field, a field in which they themselves are not experts, will seek and find something to support what they already believe.
