Ripley was going for twice-monthly vet visits for six months after we first got Darwin, so I wasn’t expecting this reaction 😆

Took Ripley to the vet for one (1) hour and Darwin has forgotten who he is 🙄

Our new local coffee shop is doing mini pancake stacks for Shrove Tuesday with an option of 20 different toppings.

The queue is right out the door down the sidewalk and the till receipt printer has broken so they’re doing it by hand. Nightmare scenario 😭

On the one hand, very cute and unexpected, on the other hand, I brought these pillows in for ME 😤

It’s the opening weekend of our village’s only real coffee shop and I think the entire valley has turned up for it 😆

The larger town next door AND subsequent three villages don’t even have a coffee shop, so.

Needed four coats of cheap white but we got there in the end 🫠

I didn’t want to risk the orange affecting the tint.

We kept going with the white, but it was a yellow tinted orange so I don’t think it would have made the green more blue.

Glad I didn’t go with an actual muted turquoise or it would have looked fully blue.

Benjamin Moore to the rescue 😍

V pleased with my gamble, here… the colour is Antique Jade and looked much more minty green on other people’s (sunny) walls but this room is east facing and mostly gloomy. I wanted a muted turquoise and it worked!

We’re using up the giant ten gallon tub of primer the previous owners left behind because I hate waste but my god this paint is shit. Three coats of basically water and you can still see some orange.

It looks closer to cream in the pic but irl it’s actually pale orange 🤢

We can’t prep the walls properly, either, because they painted over lining paper. At least this is just our hobby room so I don’t feel tempted to rip it all off and start over.

Back to the grind…

The walking path was created from the former rail path of a mining “tramway” (small mining train), and we were delighted to find remnant of a dilapidated rail bridge, mine shaft, and standing cable car infrastructure along the way!

Bet y’all thought I was done, but nope! On our way back from our mini road trip- also our last full day in Tasmania- we went on our most epic walk of the holiday: six miles out and back through a rainforest to visit an incredibly high waterfall.

She’s recently taken up sitting on chairs as a hobby and I’m pretty sure she just thinks I’m a Weird Chair.

I’m like 99% sure that she doesn’t realize the uneven surface she’s resting on is me 😆

Not to be rude but are people just increasingly brain damaged? I mean in the literal sense.

I’ve witnessed THREE separate people today being confused by what I would call a pretty straightforward sentence.

And ofc we had to go to one last beach- this one blustery and freezing for a change, but also with MASSIVE waves my camera doesn’t do justice to, which was exciting.
