I took a nap yesterday afternoon and I still fell asleep in front of the tv, which I never do. And got 8 solid hours of sleep. Madness.

It’s kinda wild how my body goes into fight or flight state when I visit my mother, like it gives me sure physical signs of it. And then I get the adrenaline crash when I get home and shift into rest and digest mode.

I used to wonder why I do stuff like this when traveling for work, wondered why I was so “antisocial,” etc. Knowing it’s autism is weirdly freeing. Like, I’m not rude at all, I like people. I just need a lot of alone time. I’m so overwhelmed all the fucking time.

I’m at a work thing at a airport hotel and I just ate my lunch as quickly as possible so I could go to my hotel room and lay on the bed and eat a piece of Texas sheet cake by myself.
(It’s less about the cake and more about the decompression time I need)

I even took one of those sleepy edibles and I still keep waking up after every sleep cycle. 😓

I’m in a hotel with a perilously quiet hvac system that’s definitely going to prevent me from sleeping soundly even with the dumb white noise app on my phone.
