Premodern has existed for 13 years and is still not "solved". People fear different decks at Lobstercon and Eternal Weekend each year. It's cooler and more interesting to me now than it was when I picked up the format a couple years ago, people are brewing up interesting stuff all the time.

- Social play. Using cards in ways that you'd never consider in 1v1
- Expression. Players saying something with their deck
- Leniency. Nobody got "got" by just forgetting a rule or face up info
- Tension. A close game that could be anybody's win

All of this applies to brackets 1-5

I was for this originally when the new brackets system was initially revealed, but I've since changed my mind. Brackets 1-2 are supposed to be a space where you do not see any game changers at all. If you're sick of Rhystic Study and co. (like I am), you're good.

Just make Sol Ring a gamechanger.

I'm a cedh player so I agree, was just curious. I don't really see it happen around here.

cedh decks typically being built by a community rather than an individual makes me appreciate them as works of creative and social effort, which are two of edh's pillars according to the (ex) RC.

How often do you see people playing stock precons? I more see them being used as starting points for people to build off of (as well as a place for WotC to put new cards for the format).

I went undefeated at my first prerelease today! Mardu had my back, rushing down the 4 colour piles everyone else was on, and I was still feeling the pressure to get matches done in 50 minutes in only 2 games.
