After recently capturing this pair of gannets with their egg, I was concerned about their success and survival. This paper gives me hope that they’ve all made it! 😊

It’s always difficult, I think, to do a post out of the blue where you just come straight out and say β€œBUY MY BOOK HERE LOOK HERE IT IS” without any preamble, but sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and do it.

Wow that’s very interesting thank you. These ones were all closed, mostly brown but also some green beside them, so I’m not sure which of the two it was going for as I only questioned it when I got home and looked at the photos.

The Big Butterfly Count 2025 is here and butterflies need our help πŸ¦‹πŸš¨

This isn't just a survey, it's a rescue mission, and we need everyone to get involved.

No lab coats. No science degrees. Just 15 minutes of your time. ⏱️

Some devastating news today.

Earlier this year the First Minister @johnswinney.bsky.social said "nature should be at the heart of climate action". This decision flies in the face of that.

We are extremely concerned to hear that consent has been given to Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm, which will be one of the world's largest such developments, sited in an internationally important area for seabirds.

Back to normal yesterday, spotting wildlife in Aberdeen. I really enjoyed my time on the Rhine in Germany and the Netherlands but it can’t compete with the Dee where biodiversity is concerned.

The difference just 4 years can make when land is released from overgrazing.

Nothing was planted here: all these native trees, wildflowers, etc, came naturally, along with loads of butterflies, birds, + other animal life.

THIS is how we reverse nature loss. #Rewilding 🌍

Loch Lomond Flamingo Land resort set for approval after appeal The theme park operator wants to build a Β£40m resort with a waterpark, monorail, hotel and restaurants.

To invest in nature you have to stop destroying it! @snp.org @johnswinney.bsky.social

β€œWe are utterly dismayed by this news... To see it destroyed in a National Park beggars belief. This proposal contravenes multiple regulations and sparked vast opposition locally and nationally.”
