To be fair, they could actually understand what they’re saying here. And that would make everyone go 😳

Which isn’t to say that I don’t think there’s clearly something happening with kids and what they consume on technology.

I’d also suggest looking up what Candice Odgers has to say about Haidt’s book and this subject in general.

And, that book is focused on how you can support and meet your kids on what they’re facing, instead of throwing fear based marketing tactics in your face like Haidt does.

FWIW, I’d stop and go read “Behind Their Screens: What Teens are Facing (and Adults are Missing) from Emily Weinstein and Carrie James.

These folks conducted actual research in this field. Haidt relies on and misinterprets data that experts say isn’t strong enough for his conclusions.
