I just can't reconcile these Cosy Capitalism games and stories with the reality of difficult customers, tight margins and constant pressure. And when you own it? It's all your responsibility! A slow day could mean a missed mortgage payment or late rent!

I'm particularly taken aback at how many 'cosy' things involve leaving stable employment to start a small hospitality or retail business.

Is that comforting?

Despite taking a great deal of comfort in certain books and films and games, I tend to bristle at things explicitly marketed as cosy. That's for me to decide.
