Though I suspect the limited editions get particular care.
I have 2x Bulovas (A-15 Pilot and a Hack) and a Hamilton (Khaki Field King Auto) and while I switch them around constantly, my new go-to is a Praedidus A-11 made from a C-47 door that dropped Paratroopers in WWII. The same company made a version with sand from Iwo for @sebastianbae.bsky.social

And if you’re worried about USMA being a lightning rod for politicization, *gestures wildly at the rest of the university system*
Well this is fruitless.
Relegating (how when there isn’t a meaningful hierarchy) or reducing the budget would have zero effect on the policies (still dictated by government) and the football team (which brings in more private money and subsidizes other athletic and extracurricular programs).
Public Pol analysis aside, seems to me that it’s more appropriate to call on institutions to do a better job rectifying past sins than calling for abolition. Esp when the body politic acts on USMA a hell of a lot more than the reverse.
Seems like that standard would leave us w/o any institutions.
It is impossible to judge as the Academies have existed for the entirety of any other commissioning program.
Are grad better officers or better networked/favored by boards? Impossible to separate the two.
This is my selection of just CAA and Strategic Wargaming Division Aloha shirts from many USINDOPACOM and USARPAC wargames

Since the creation of functional areas for Army officers, there has been the dual worries about a “brain drain” of talent from combat branches and a concern that officers are “quiet quitting” in “easier” billet… so which is it?

It’s perfectly fair to try to take an account of both the direct and indirect costs of the US led invasion of Iraq, but to pretend that there was no widespread violence in Iraq prior to 2003 when there was a whole no fly zone for a decade to stop the gassing of Kurds and bombing of Shia is just wild
27.08.2025 11:06 — 👍 9 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Just to keep the record straight, yes, it was.
The Baathist regime was killing tens of thousands of Iraqi Kurds and Shia in horrific attacks. After needlessly attacking Kuwait and sacrificing tens of thousands of their people. After needlessly attacking Iran sacrificing tens of thousands.
What the hell is the National Guard doing?!?!?!
Everyone knows the active duty force trains for this exact mission every Red Cycle. Get these amateurs out of here and let’s get a Battalion of OPERATION Clean Sweep veterans for this vital mission.
Hate this for you Russ

Was the negotiation in Berlin “who’s gonna put this shallow ditch out? It’s on fire with Hitler in it”
It seems like there’s a serious knowledge gap here.
