Resting Together On co-regulation, community, and the quiet magic of resting in company

My mom died two months ago yesterday.

In the middle of my grief, I started co-resting. It doesn't ask anything of me, except to rest once a week, and has felt supportive as I move through this loss.

Sharing for those that may need the same, but doesn't have the ability to go out and find it.

Wednesday, OHA reported 3 new COVID deaths in Oregon, the total is now 10,851. Oregon hospitalizations are at 1.1 per 100,000 as of July 12, compared to the national average of 1.0. Wastewater virus levels are at a plateau over most of the state.

My sister did this for my mother and the process was easy. My sister talked to my mother’s PCP and he requested home care via Medicaid. It was only for a few hours a week, but started almost immediately.

This was in L.A. rather than PDX and the PCP specializes in geriatric medicine.

Some from ‘two years’ which means they never went through lockdown or had vaccine access.
