Then I go on the Internet and you know how fandom is, you criticize one or two things about the game and everyone jumps on you, it felt like being assaulted and having my pogs stolen again. Two bad experiences around voicing a not-even-that-negative opinion about Chrono Trigger, for the next twenty years my brain just associated that game with angry shitty experiences. At PAX West a few years ago my (now ex) partner and I lost in a game show thing because I failed to properly identify a music piece from Chrono Trigger, and none of this would have happened if I just played and enjoyed the game like the demographic datum that I am.
