Healthcare should be a basic human right.
People shouldn’t have to fear bankruptcy for needing the ER.
They shouldn’t end up homeless because they became ill.
They shouldn’t have to “prove they matter” to get Medicaid.
For profit medicine is cruel & punitive.
Universal healthcare saves lives

Showed up for my COVID vax appt today and got turned away. I answered the health risk questions honestly (not medically high risk, a caretaker for a child who is). Not surprised, but surprised how angry I am. How are people getting this vaccine? Are they accurately reporting their health status?

After Charlie Kirk's death, teachers and professors nationwide fired or disciplined over social media posts
At least a dozen faculty and staff have faced fallout over insensitive comments online.
I am having a hard time reconciling "Charlie Kirk was a fierce advocate of open dialogue and free expression" with "we must identify and persecute everyone who is insufficiently mournful"

Masked raids are tools of fear, not freedom. Despite what this administration wants you to believe, they are not about “safety.” They are about letting ICE agents hide from accountability while carrying out inhumane acts.

If you’re a convicted felon and your character witness is your dear old friend, the convicted child sex trafficker and enabler of your other dear old friend, the most notorious raper of children in modern history, you’re definitely a total piece of shit.

If women submitting to men was a natural way of being, they would not have needed laws, religion & violence to get them to do it.

If you want a sneak peak into our future imagine the politicization of everything. Whether the government performs a function entirely dependent on whether the government likes you. You want your social security check? Small business loan? Let's have a look at your facebook posts first

Really incredible story unraveling in this thread, where Amazon and other sites have seemingly been able to sell an academic textbook that was withdrawn in 2021 and never actually printed or published, without the knowledge of the press, editors or contributors. Something has gone deeply wrong!

Read the whole thread, because this is wild.
A book from an academic press that was cancelled and never printed by the press has been found being sold in multiple locations--and not as a print on demand version.

That’s right, folks. 👏👏 We CAN stop SB 37 in the House. Now is the time to step up our activism not surrender! 👊👊👊 Contact your representative, reach out the the House Higher Ed Committee members and let them know how bad this bill would be for #HigherEd in Texas!

Movements succeed when they have mass participation—the safer it feels for people to participate, the more likely it is the movement will succeed.
Protests are helpful because they show safety in numbers. If the protests aren’t safe, people won’t show up or do other actions (like strike).

‘Deported because of his tattoos’: has the US targeted Venezuelans for their body art?
US claims tattoos prove membership of Tren de Aragua gang but relatives describe tributes to God, family and Real Madrid
“Neri José Alvarado Borges … also had tattoos that relatives suspect may have led to him being wrongly identified as a criminal. One … features the name of his younger brother, Neryelson, who is autistic, and the rainbow-colored ribbon of the autism acceptance movement.”

Texas Banned Abortion. Then Sepsis Rates Soared.
ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis is the most detailed look yet into a rise in life-threatening complications for women experiencing pregnancy loss under Texas’ abortion ban.
Dozens more pregnant and postpartum women have died in Texas hospitals since the state banned abortion, our analysis shows.
As the maternal mortality rate dropped nationally, it rose in Texas by 33%.
