Die Liebe zum Autoritarismus – Die dunkle Seite des Menschen
Demokratie kämpft auf verlorenem Posten.
Selbst stabile Demokratien sehen, wie Menschen zunehmend autoritäre Parteien wählen.
Warum?

Putin schnallt offenbar langsam, was Russland blüht.
Kein Grund für Europa und die NATO, auch nur einen Millimeter zurückzuweichen.
Use it to stop Trump. Would be the first time anyone actually did anything. Speeches, posts or resignations don’t count when the lunatics are running the asylum.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

The Trumpist regime is causing so much damage, so much destruction. We must remember that this goes far beyond politics in a narrow sense, that the radical goons currently in charge of the U.S. government are threatening the health and the lives of so many millions.
Please read this.
Ukraine, thankfully, has not listened--and now we can see why. They have focussed on war production as the battlefield has become increasingly deadly. The have also given themselves a better demographic future.
It’s amazing how poor the understanding of war is these days. 2/2

"When we look at war, there are elements of it that are brutal, vulgar, and unethical. But the kidnapping of children, I think, goes beyond all of that. And we have to think that it's not only about the children being abducted⤵️
1/11 How should Europe deal with Trump on Ukraine?
The strategy is clear, but hard to implement:
👉 Stop expecting anything from him
👉 Engage with him as much as possible
Not to win him over, but to extract whatever little help we can, and limit the damage he can do
1/15 Despite what many think, time is not on Russia’s side in Ukraine.
The bad news is it might take a while to show.
Wars are slow-moving disasters, and Ukraine’s expanding strike campaign will be key to speeding up the reckoning
Very annoyed with this ”but Turkey shot down a Russian jet”.
Turkey doesn’t have a border with Russia. If Finland did the same (when it’s ”only” an incursion), what would stop Russia from starting to shoot down Finnish (or other NATO) jets when they’re flying close to the Russian border ?
There’s a widespread misconception in Western society that repelling Russian provocations would lead to war. It’s a narrative fueled by Russian propaganda. In reality, the opposite is true: Russia will continue escalating its aggression and provocations until it is stopped.

How do serious outlets let through their editing process articles that claim that the Poland drone attack ”led to little more than statements of concern”.
The very same day multiple European allies pledged to deploy more support to Poland and it was formalised as Eastern Sentry 2 days later
1/5 Despite our efforts, those of us in countries bordering Russia still aren’t doing enough.
Helping Ukraine and building real defenses isn’t optional.
What we’re doing now falls short of true deterrence.
We need to send a message—and that means doing more
Trump is enabling this by cutting the financing of the investigations
