I hope Russel T Davies's Dr Who Christmas special kills the show. Temporarily. I hope it stays off air for about 30 years. Then someone writes a triumphant return in 2055. And the show runs 8 years from then, and does a 100th anniversary special.

Nah. They killed it... again. Leave it another 20 years, so there's a properly fresh group of writers coming through to start it up again. Be grateful for the Davies1/Moffat years, but let it go. It can come back again. The person who writes the triumphant return in 2050 has already left school...
