Yeah, it’s feeling like it might be a better option…especially if I end up in research. I want to start using it now and keep it consistent. It’s just an odd fit on a personal level.

Should I start going by β€œSusan” for academic papers and presentations? Need honest opinions on this. I don’t ever go by that name but nervous β€œSusie” sounds unserious.

β€œIn my profession, I have seen many people break down in grief, but that image of Elizabeth’s father will stay with me forever,” she said. β€œI watched him sit in his car, bury his head in his hands, and cry uncontrollably. Those are images you do not forget.”

introduce yourself with the name your parents almost gave you

Hi, I'm Josephine! Born on St. Joseph's Day in a Catholic family, and my parents thought they'd get cute with it. (My grandpa talked them out of it, but I would have been fine being a Josie.)

I know we’ve gotten used to it, but this type of behavior is disgusting and people should speak up about it

Literally no kid on earth was ever as excited about singing Christmas songs in an elementary school auditorium. If you can't get on her level, gtfo.

Stephen Miller: [30 days from now] Look, the president shits himself in most meetings. The president shits where he wants. You people in the media, you're so obsessed with who shit whose pants, and by the time you're done figuring it out, we'll be shitting in a thousand different pairs of pants.

I'm not saying CBS News is now a pedophile protection racket, just that it wouldn't be doing much differently if it weren't

Oops, it was 1st grade. SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHICH ONE SHE IS... lol

This made me think of her 2nd grade teacher telling us how she had been *too enthusiastic* at the music performance, as an example of her being a problem. She also told my kid that she read aloud with too much enunciation. Yeah, sorry, those are things to be cherished, not "corrected", beyatch.

It may take a while but at some point she will find her spot in the world where she’s appreciated. I can’t imagine why anyone would want her to suppress those parts or herself to be like everyone else.

If my brilliant daughter gets a low grade, that’s not a failure on her part. That’s a failure on her school in assessing her actual abilities, knowledge, and skills. I’m not going to punish her for that. Her creative potential and heart are so much more valuable than hitting deadlines.

03.02.2026 00:44 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

When she gets excited about an assignment, she goes big on it. Spends way more time than necessary but what she creates is original, detailed, and outstanding. Is trying to change her what’s best? I have a hard time selling her on β€œdo poorer work”. But then why should I be?

I’m studying creativity in individuals with ADHD right now, and it gave me a realization about my teen. Her grades never reflect her knowledge, time, or effort. She works really hard and puts her heart into everything. But she gets poor grades because she struggles with getting things done on time.
