Except they don’t frame ALL news this way. It was “HILLARY EMAIL BOMBSHELL ROCKS RACE” not “Republicans release James Comey letter on laptop archive.”

I thought so too. Turns out one eye was far-sighted, but I didn’t realize because the other eye could read fine up close. But this meant the good eye was doing double work, which gets physically taxing. Worth looking into if you get headaches or blurred vision after long reading or laptop sessions

Do you need glasses? VR always made me sick, then I discovered I had just apparently become farsighted

I called everyone in Jeffrey Epstein's little black book. What I learned about rich people, conspiracy, Ghislaine, stand-up comedy, and evil from 2,000 phone calls.

The best story on the Epstein world was in Mother Jones.

The picture it paints that Epstein used his access to young women to rope in rich, loser men (eg Trump; and used access to rich men‘s money to rope in young women.

Less a scheme than pervert arbitrage.

They’re “Second Thingers.” People who Don’t Believe the First Thing They Hear, but uncritically believe the second.

See this comment shows the whole issue. You can’t separate a provable factual statement (“American cars have not declined in build quality over the last 15 years“) from a moral one (“Defending billion dollar corps.”).

If you can’t approach facts as facts, you end up in a constructed fantasy world

Tbf the Trump crew has yet to admit Trump was president in 2020. They don’t let the structures of time bind them

You think the quality of automobiles has noticably declined across all models over the last 15 years?

Based on what?

Dude, what are you talking about. When I was young in the 1980s it was notable when a car survived to 100,000 miles, now basically every mass market car will get there

The term “enshittification” was coined to refer to the decline of online platforms and services specifically. Its about how Google search sucks now

If the Senate is going to exits, it should operate under a “reverse filibuster” threshold, where it passes all House legislation unless 60 Senators vote to oppose it.

If I were an elected official like Cato the Elder I would end every speech “And also the Senate must be abolished.”

Schumer’s theory of the Senate seems to be that Senators exists for the sole purpose of existing as Senators. Has the Democratic Senate done ANYTHING notable since he took power? Not even anything brave or important. Just *anything* they weren’t dragged to?

Unironically you wonder if the traitor moderates did think “Looks like our party’s gotten more traction with voters, we can afford a backstab”

The main reason policymaking is unstable under the filibuster is that it *stops legislation altogether,* so policy making instead happens at the executive and judiciary — where it entirely depends on which handful of individuals are currently in power

Tho tbf prob a lot of people experience this as “I earned a deserved raise through my hard work, and inflation took almost all of it.”

Courts shouldn’t be stepping in on policy *at all*. They’re not built for it.

Courts resolve disputes, discrete issues on narrow evidence. What does this sentence mean, what was the intended policy, is this act consistent with it or violate his rights.

They only do policy now bc Cong. doesn’t

Not exaggeration that SCOTUS outcomes easier to predict from reviewing right-wing twitter than current law. Often the arguments too

So weak. The only response a liberal should have to the idea of fleeing Trump is “Why should I change my name, he’s the one who sucks.”

The Senate can’t “reject legislation” requiring Trump to get Congressional approval before starting a war with Venezuela. The *Constitution* requires that approval. The Senate can only decline to enforce the Constitution.

My extremely liberal, former hippie parents are definitely a bit weirded out by trans folks, and don’t like the idea of trans girls playing sports. But will become enraged at anyone trying to target trans people for harassment

The real MSM disconnect is they can’t internalize that Donald Trump is the actual POTUS, with all the duties and responsibilities every other POTUS had.

They just want to treat Trump as a symbolic character in some allegory about the American spirit or something.

Matty Y’s claim is so infuriating because his argument is

1) Moderation helps individual candidates,

2) Bad national rep hurts the party generally,

Without acknowledging #1 feeds into #2. If *everyone* triangulates against the party, the party’s rep becomes dog shit - dragging down *everyone*

Matt Y, question: What do you think happens to the “national party image” when Dem candidates spend all their time saying “I’m reasonable, not like the other sick lunatics in my party.”

A MYSTERY

This logic is INSANE because Mamdani is only a “liability” to centrist Dems because they act like he is! They’re the ones giving people permission to believe Mamdani is anything but a progressive but mainstream local politician
