The only way the Greens are going to get a sniff of government within a FPTP system is in a coalition and the huge comprimises that would entail and it would be v interesting to see what they'd drop & what their 'red lines' would be. Suspect it would go the way of Scotland after some grandstanding

Well that's politics - messy, contested and on shifting sands. Just wait until 'Your Party' start wrestling with policy - that'll be all the above. As for the Greens - well they can say anything because the only chance of them being near gov is in a coalition with all the comprimises that entails

SRA urged to take action as we reveal solicitor has β€˜purposely frustrated’ investigation Solicitor Andrew Jonathan Milne delayed an official investigation into his alleged professional misconduct by overwhelming the regulator with complaints and threatening them with two injunctions se…

A solicitor, Andrew Milne has been bullying leaseholders across Sheffield into paying him extraordinary sums, with no legal basis.

Why hasn't the SRA stopped him? Because he's conducted an extraordinary campaign against the SRA. 180 complaints. Two judicial reviews.

The first vision is not to get roasted by the bond markets (think Kwartang budget) resulting in a devalued Β£, high interest rates & spiralling inflation. After that I'm not sure - some vague notion of economic & social justice? You're not wrong about the triple lock & I'm retired.

A wealth tax has become a mantra for many on the left but I feel the reality is that income tax should rise across the board with the rising of tax thresholds to offset the impact on earnings below Β£30k a year and certainly those earning the minimum wage having lower tax.

Mayor defends plan to cancel trams for Steel City derby Oliver Coppard says he took the decision due to disorder at previous Wednesday vs United matches.

I've been to a fair few Sheffield derby's over the year - even U21 matches. Always a nasty, hostile & sometimes violent occasion. Significant numbers of Sheffield men(always men) - young & old disgracing themselves & their city. The halting of trams is no surprise

This is an intriguing issue. I live in a middle-class Green voting neighbourhood where this is common - in fact some might say essential because the Victorian road pattern has narrow roads & no off street parking. Anyone standing for local election would probably lose if they backed enforcement. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Latest rendering of what the finished Wellington Street Co-living block will look like. Sheffield will never have the sort of economy that enables exciting architecture at scale and this is the best part of a Β£100m project.

Not often Sheffield's skyline changes - we're not Manchester - it has been fairly low-rise but the crane going up on Coda's 32 floor co-living development on Wellington Streert - will be around 100m high. Photo Sterling777

We’ve made this investigation free to read because so many people in Sheffield are affected by this story.

Our journalists have been knocking on doors for weeks and we’ve had to employ lawyers because of the legal threats made against us.

We can only do this kind of journalism with your support.

Hi Tim I would just block Daniel. He argues in bad-faith and always resorts to abuse, apparently I am a 'white supremacist' for pointing out that both Hamas & Netanyahu are both land maximalists. Hard to figure that I am an ethno-nationalist but there you go - he throws stuff like this out.

And yet you are unable or unwilling to address the substance. Hamas and Netanyahu are land maximalists - two sides of the same coin & both want to scupper any talk of a 2 state solution.

Well that is what Irgun described itself as. As for Hamas they are faction within the Palestinian population that had ruthlessly attempted to eliminate Fatah - and as a consequence got support from Netanyahu as part of his 'divide & rule' strategy. Ironic really

The Irgun were the National Military Organization in the Land of Israel (Zionist militants they were often described as) & yes they did kill Arabs as well as Britsh - 107 including women and children in an attack on the village Dier Yassin in 1948.

The tide is turning Five years ago, we set out to change local journalism. It looks like it’s starting to pay off

This week, The Tribune had some really heartening news.

On Thursday, they announced the shortlist for the British Journalism Awards in December in London.

In the local news category, not one, but two of the journalists nominated are working for our tiny team right here in Sheffield!

A reminder that in 1947 around 400 Britians were killed by Irgun including the hanging of two abducted soldiers & the Goldsmith club with 13 killed. At the time it led to widespread anti-Jewish rioting in the UK, but to some extent it worked as it helped to prompt British withdrawal.

I am reminded that Boris Johnson described any such enquiry as 'spaffing money against the wall' and yet he was elected first party leader & then PM - His party did nothing. To say Philips - who worked for Women's Aid before politics - is more on the side of rapists is one dumb take. Libel I'd say.
