I'm just a simple swamp child trying to learn manners. Seriously I try very hard not to be tedious and off-putting but look we all fall short of our goals sometimes

05.11.2025 16:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks, I think you must be right. I've never had occasion to work with a true rosewood before (pau ferro being the closest thing I've touched), so that may be why it wasn't registering.
05.11.2025 04:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Are there any wood ID people on here? I'm a little mystified at this stuff. I've narrowed the date to 1920s, so it's possible it's some species we don't use any more. It's color is like walnut, but the grain patterns are not. It's not notably hard, somewhere between walnut and maple.

I've been feeling bad that I'm not capable of a more sympathetic restoration, but compared to one of the legs I haven't touched yet........ this looks good I don't care

03.11.2025 15:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0While I agree that fitness wearables are bad from a privacy standpoint, and probably an accuracy standpoint, this kind of Michael Pollan argument is unpersuasive. Putting aside the question of whether a ring can tell me jack shit about my REM cycle, I think I'd axiomatically prefer data over vibes.
