I've never had an eldrazi deck that was on the weaker side of things. No titans. No gamechangers. No 5-color sloppiness with Ulalek or whatever.
Instead, a flavorful theme and combo deck about a veterinarian, his assistants, and a quest to raise ants. It goes horribly awry.
That's kind of Howard's thing. Doing blow, staying up for 72 hours, smelling of ... well ... stuff.
Can't wait for the Secret Lair!
All of the cheese in the art looks like it's watery - overly goopy and loose.
The lack of structure to it is SO gross. It's an uncanny valley of cheese. IRL, most cheese pulls are straight lines. There's resistance and tension.
Not in TMNT world. It is literal slop. I can hear it squishing. π¬
Some eye bleach from whatever scandals have you wrapped up.
Curling is a fairytale game, and the story of where these stones come from, how they're created, is just top-tier lore.
No one who's on social media has a moral high ground to lecture strangers. We're all circling the drain that big tech has created for us. Congratulations on staying out of the whirlpool for a while. I'm sure it felt great, but you're back in and propelling it further, as am I, by responding.

- better audio
- pays artist 3x more
- album reviews by humans, nice touch
- artists who left Spotify (like King Gizz) are here
- no AI slop
- your listens don't fund drone warfare

I've checked out of competitive Magic since 2015, and I've never heard a normie podcast ala MTG Goldfish talk about it before.
Oh, hell yeah. That makes a lot of sense with 0 mana artifacts. I like to build random decks on Arena to play against the Clippy or whatever, and as I'm casting baubles, it felt crazy powerful.

Been thinking about this card. Dunno if it's ever seen any competitive play, but I can imagine a while commander deck built around it, and that's exciting.

The more game actions I perceive that a deck will make (Simic for instance), the faster I want to take them out.
Watching a 5 minute turn feels like 20 in my brain.
No bonus for moi, at least none that I can see. Ah well, I'm hopeful there are some more D&D themed bonuses in the lairs like last time.

With about five minutes between sessions, can a working person actually get a Secret Lair they really want?
Instead of watching the super bowl, I started mapping Conan's face onto a wrestler in WWE2K25.
Time well spent.
It wouldn't be as bad if there was an actual third party advocate for the consumer. Being gaslit just enflames chat.
Examples being: this isn't a second reserved list, we don't know why some lairs have less cards than others, and we didn't even expect to sell the more expensive chaos drops.
Wizards of the Coast:
"This pack of hot dogs demanded to only have seven wieners. Who are we to question the will of this product? When your Cheez-Its come in 9.5oz boxes instead of 11oz, it's because the product was served. Praise be!"

That's an insane line to expect people to believe in.
Like many of the lines from the stream: the one that made me laugh the most was when they asked why some lairs have less cards, and they responded by blaming the Lair.
"Some products demand more. We're just doing what the lair tells us to."
So overall, it was like listening to a brick wall.
In an effort to show some balance:
- they want to police scalping better
- they believe their estimates for demand are better
- they used the Monster Hunter fiasco as an example of giving one for the team
What I got from the stream:
- we will never reprint SLs
- we claim this isn't a second reserve list
- no print to demand
- chaos drops will happen again despite the frustration
- SLs that have 3 cards vs 5 cards: "no one knows why ..."
- "we hear you, but we're not going to change."
Their official response:
"print to demand is bad for business."
"print within a window is bad for you."
They're staying the unfortunate course.
*WotC didn't respond to questions about why they sell on Monday when many have to take off of work to wait in a queue.
