I think when the "radicalizing" viewpoint inhabits the leader of the government it's not exactly radical anymore?

Would like to get my hands on whoever decided that spring break should happen in the last two weeks of fiscal year end for government. Yeah, let's have people try to take vacation in the two weeks MOST likely to have rush requests for information. Fantastic.

How is this a surprise? Climate change is another pressure on a population that can be leveraged (at least regionally) such that the population will accept more authoritarian style government in exchange for minimal protection or respite from environmental disasters.

Only on the west coast do schools send out missives about upcoming field trips - in March - with the directive "Pants will be mandatory. No shorts please." Also, some parents will "forget" to read that part, and there will be at least one kid on that bus wearing shorts. They will be completely fine.

Hoping this is not some kind of portent of the season(s) to come: today I worked from home and, for the first time this year, it was nice enough to eat lunch outside.
