How many people in the group?

Do you have their emails?
If so, email them. Ask them what you think is appropriate. Ask them if they'd like to start a new group. What's it gonna hurt?

Are there times when you are all in a live chat?
If so, bring it up there. The Mod can't shut you down in public.

I cannot for the life of me come up with a logical reason a Mod would have any reason to complain.

The goal of writing, other than writing, is to achieve the dream of "good news"

I'd let the group know what happened, then axe the Mod or start a new group.

Straight out of high school into a small computer company (1982!) where I worked in Sales Order Entry.

I taught myself to code and worked at a couple of places until, a few years later, I landed at a dream company (a gig that lasted 31 years) until I retired

Now I write cuz I love it.

That's why you use brackets or asterisks or slashes (I suggest multiples of whichever you choose) so that they really stand out... and are easy to search for.

It's not like spelling or grammar issues, which spontaneously occur within your PDF the moment you email it to anyone. 😉
