We’re having 2 different conversations where you seem to believe an assertion of fact is an indication of interest.
It’s a dismissal - they’re fine and we’re not. It’s a recognition that they’re no longer relevant. It’s an acknowledgement that electoral losses impact us more than them. That’s it.

You’ve added a moral judgement to a statement that did not assign a moral value to the fact they are doing fine.
Whether or not we like it, the truth is they aren’t being punished by their electoral loss. That’s it - that’s the whole of it. Your desire to see them suffer is a separate thing.

This is relevant to my life again, so please - I need everyone to recognize that an accurate description of A Thing is not an endorsement of that thing.
01.05.2025 12:44 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
Again, a statement of fact is not an endorsement of that reality.
Both of them are wealthy. Neither one of them are in any actual material danger, economically, socially, or legally. Unlike a huge swath of us.
You seem to want them to suffer; but by all indications, they’re not the ones who are.

Yes. You’ve used that disposable income to send your children to school.
You had more money; you spent the money; you now have less money.

The image presents a comparison between two types of lawns to promote #NoMowMay. On the left side, titled "Why have a lawn like this?" it displays a grid of uniform green squares representing a plain, regularly mowed lawn. On the right side, titled "When you can have a lawn like this?" the grid intersperses colourful icons of a sunflower, a pink flower, a ladybug, a frog, a bee, a butterfly, a white flower with a yellow centre, a tulip, another sunflower, a red mushroom with white spots, and additional flowers, symbolising a lively, biodiverse lawn encouraged by letting grass grow naturally during May.
#NoMowMay has begun! 🌼
The rare chance to help nature by doing nothing.

I don’t - a description of a thing is not an endorsement of that thing. You said they did not do fine, but the OP wasn’t saying they DID fine, but that they ARE fine.
As in, what is happening right now does not materially impact them, especially in the way it impacts us.

A *quarter* of Hawaii’s prison population is actually incarcerated in Arizona, thousands of miles from home.
Trump’s current prison partnership with El Salvador did not come out of thin air and should be understood as an escalation of practices that already go on every day in this country.

Raskin: Our chairman… How does one go from a libertarian railing about the deep state and the fbi and the doj coming down on the rights of the people to becoming a supine submissive authoritarian who votes against providing basic due process rights for the people against the government?

Well, they’re both pretty well off. One of them is 82 years old and was a centrist Dem. The other is considering a run for governor.
And while I can’t guarantee their level of rest, I imagine it’s much better than those of us who need to be able to, you know, afford things.

They lost, but they personally are fine.
It’s the rest of us who are suffering. It’s the rest of us who will continue to suffer.

This is the future Lutnick has planned for you & your kids.
For his kids? Well, Lutnick appointed his sons Brandon & Kyle, ages 27 & 28, CEOs of the investment firm he led, overseeing 14,000 employees.
I’m sure he did an extensive search & they were the most qualified. fortune.com/2025/02/20/h...

NYT headline: “Kennedy Advises New Parents to ‘Do Your Own Research’ on Vaccines”
Subheader:
“In an interview with Dr. Phil, the health secretary offered false information about vaccine oversight and revealed a lack of basic understanding of new drug approvals.”
“And I’m like, what do you mean, you ‘do your own research’? You running a double-blind study in your living room, dawg?”

The real question is -
Did doing this help Michigan materially enough where being seen as supporting Trump was worth it? In the short term? In the long term? I’m not from Michigan; I can’t make that calc. But let’s not pretend any anger toward Dems playing nice is similar to Republicans.
30.04.2025 13:05 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
The difference is Republicans believed Obama was a tyrant; and he went to NJ to provide support with no ask for reciprocity.
Trump is an acute danger to the United States (and world) & there are receipts. It isn’t being like Republicans to expect our elected officials to not cozy up to dictators.

Two former Wells Fargo executives were fined $8.5M by the Biden administration for covering up the bank's infamous fake account scandal.
Trump just slashed those fines to a paltry $150,000 after Wells Fargo gave $1M to his inauguration.
See how this works?
