The arts in Wales need urgent support. The sector’s at a “critical tipping point” because of “eye-watering” building costs, reduced funding and staff burnout, new research by Creu Cymru warns.

Belatedly watched the BBC Casualty Christmas episode on the importance of blood donation. I’ve donated for 25 years and still don’t understand how anyone who can donate chooses not to. If you’d accept donated blood for you or your family, make it your New Year’s resolution to donate blood.

Yes, I am still interested in getting to Cathays but the train I’m on has been held outside Cardiff Central so I’ve now missed the 10:41 that would’ve got me to Cathays.
Curse the day the direct train from Cadoxton to Cathays ended. Makes it much harder getting from Barry to the Sherman Theatre.
A close up of a cosy leopard print dressing gown. My straggly blonde hair falls on the should and my hand holds the lapel.
Happy 21st birthday for yesterday to my Primark dressing gown which is now as old as I was when I received her from my Grandma & Grandad.
Is this deinfluencing?
No. I cannot do any more places. There are too many places.

Did you know the creator is a queer Welsh artist?
Did you know they're being agressively pursued & harassed w/lawsuits from a US organisation trying to steal their intellectual property?
Did you know you can donate to cover the horrific legal costs?
“The economic bounceback” is his proof that Brexit was good. I am vastly worse off than I was pre Brexit.

The book Not Much Rhymes With Cancer held in front of a fence. The cover has splodges of colour in purple and lime green with the title of the book in pink. There are some line illustrations of butterflies and a female figure walking with head held high and leaves in her hair.
🧵We’ve curated this collection of her work. In her own words, from her Instagram project Not Much Rhymes With Cancer: “in parts an outpouring of emotion, a place to vent and expel negative thoughts. Mostly it’s a tale of hope, positivity and gratitude.”

Two photos, one of two geeky 11 year olds grinning and giggling in school uniform holding up pictures of dolphins. The other photo below is of the same two women in their thirties with big smiles, waved hair and full faces of makeup. Emily is the bride on the left and Megan a bridesmaid on the right.
🧵We lost Em in 2022 and I miss her so bloody much. She’s a main character in my childhood, teenage years and as alleged adults.
I’m so glad I got to see her shine when she read her work at poetry salons and delivered poetry workshops, I was and am so proud of her.
🧵 Emily was mum to a newborn, and a trailblazing PR consultation when she received her stage IV de novo breast cancer diagnosis aged only 38.
She documented her experience and explored the unthinkable though her poetry, with vulnerability and authenticity.

Two smiling women in fake fur coats smile at a garden party. Emily is on the left with her short dark hair and Megan (me!) on the right with a blonde bob.
🧵 Super proud to announce the publication of Not Much Rhymes With Cancer by Emily Thomas.
A real labour of love and a special collaborative project by some of Em’s mates & family. A privilege to have been part of making this happen.
So proud that Em’s words are out there.

Had to buy some jeans yesterday (I only had one pair and they’re too big and the holes in them aren’t going to be my friend when it gets colder) and I didn’t cry! It was close (because shops don’t think you can be both short and chubby) but we got there. Proud of myself.
