I heard some old friends at Pod Save America were in town, so I decided to stop by. As we saw this week, we can change this country for the better. But it’s going to take all of us getting organized and having honest conversations about the best way forward.

The astonishing thing about the autocratic victories in the US is how easy they were. Total pushover. Took a long time to tee up, sure, but in the end there was just nothing in the way. All those checks and balances never really existed.

We’ve watched Trump and his failed appointees arrest judges and elected officials who impede their ability to arrest daycare and farm workers, all the while doing nothing to prevent the actual tragedies in Minnesota and Utah.
