07.11.2025 13:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I always find it odd that for all the cacophony of fireworks popping off through the weeks around 5th November, I never EVER hear the sound of anyone enjoying themselves.
No cheers, no happy screams.
As I calm my unsettled dogs I am picturing people watching silently, unsmiling, wondering WHY.
A blast of saxophone in the taillights.

Did you know Mary Shelley once had to correct Sir Walter Scott for crediting her novel, Frankenstein, to her husband? ๐

A bisected skeleton in the University of Siena. This is very useful to help understand some anatomical features - here you can see clearly see the arterial grooves for the middle meningeal artery insid the skull. These grooves come from pulsation of the blood putting pressure on the bone

Baron Nathan, the celebrity dance teacher of the 1850s who danced the hornpipe blindfolded, surrounded by eggs. There's something SO malevolent about this image. It's powerfully frightening.
