Ad for a sports team named the Stars: "A star is the universe's most luminous powerhouse!"

Me: "NOT EVEN CLOSE!"

I concur, very Waldenbooks font on those signs.

Okay, it's been decades since I read either series (longer since the Rihannsu books), not surprising they got jumbled in my memory.

Peter David’s Excalibur series. Nicknamed Ensign Rock, IIRC.

The numbers don't add up to 100%, they were just picking the Traditional Toppings and the most popular with The Blasted Youth Element.

Of the many red flags along the way in Cerebus, one of the subtler ones was Elrod being retconned into being a magical side effect and poofed away. Sim was becoming too much of a Serious Author for such goofy fun characters.

Pick Elrod, and it's fun and weird for several hours, then Sim goes insane and you're excoriated for being female before Elrod vanishes in a puff of "I Am A Serious Writer" retcon smoke.

NEWS: CBS blocked Stephen Colbert from airing an interview with Texas State Rep. James Talarico and ordered him not to mention the cancellation over fear of FCC chair Brendan Carr.

Colbert went on air and revealed it anyway.

I enjoyed the fun of the Super Bowl trailer, but this is great.

Interesting visual bit there to link the speech bubbles, like putting a (1/2) and (2/2) in them.

Always fun to see a new ad for a prescription I take, and they've added a side effect that they feel the need to spell out at normal speed and loudness of speech.

The only part of immigration that's been destabilizing is how it got all the racists to feed our democracy into the wood chipper in an attempt to stop it.

(...but almost no one uses starch in laundry anymore, and the pens aren't used on worn bills anyway, cashiers are told to use them on crisp bills, exactly the sort of thing the pens would never register a true positive on. So all it does is tell you if someone handled the bill while eating fries.)

(Iodine pens at least started off with a valid use case. One way to artificially weather counterfeit bills is to tumble them in a dryer with some poker chips or the like. Back when people used starch in laundry, this would get starch on the bills, which an iodine pen would pick up...)

I mean, I do try to read them all. Well, the setting bits and maybe some mechanics. Spell/ability/gear lists are usually right out, though

But play them all? Play ANY of them? HAHAHAHAHAno.

AI detectors are like those iodine pens cashiers are required to rub all over large bills. A scam preying on fear of someone else cheating.

Tater Tots are kinda polarizing, either you love 'em or wonder who even eats the things (as came up in a National Tater Tot Day post on a local news station's facebook page).

I will say that during the worst COVID shortages, Tater Tots were the last thing on the shelf in the frozen potato aisle.

Reactionaries believe change only makes things worse, and we should undo all recent changes.
Progressives believe change can make things better, and we should enact more changes.
Centrists don't want to undo changes or make new changes, which tends to at least side with the goals of reactionaries..

I mean, to be fair, if your preference is for women, there's not a lot of women in the Legendarium who get a lot of personality development. Those that do tend towards "unattainable beauty and perfection." Eowyn/Dernhelm at least has some quirks.

I mean, one of the figure skaters has raccoon-striped hair and carries around a Pochita plushie, so "Olympic skier comes out as furry by accepting medal in fursuit" isn't TOO far off from reality.
