next week I will finally have childcare again after a three month long search for more consistent babysitting but in the meantime I have really honed this skill

This year I am winter biking for the first time and it’s actually significantly easier than winter walking because the city plows the bike lanes. Imagine how shitty the roads would be if each individual stretch of road had to be shoveled by the property owner abutting that road

really, sidewalk shoveling should be made the responsibility of the municipality, because even if every person shovels their own sidewalk, what happens with sidewalks in front of a vacant storefront, for instance? It’s too important to be left up to individual people

happy winter!! happy snow!! if you own property you need to shovel every inch of sidewalk that even remotely touches your property because in most cities and towns, no one else will do it and then the sidewalk will just stay icy and never get cleared!!

I once had to drive four hours round trip after not having driven for 10 years and I had someone else who drove regularly sitting in the passenger seat telling me exactly what to do so this is also an option lol

literally my two Christmas moods

we walked in the door from our Thanksgiving trip and the 4 year old immediately went over to the CD player, popped in a Raffi CD, and cranked it up, so he’s ready to be a teenager

people you already like and get along with and NOW they have someone for your kids to play with and you can talk about kid stuff with them? Truly priceless

when you become a parent, it’s so much fun to make new friends who are also parents, especially if they’re part of your kid’s school or playgroup or whatever. But it simply doesn’t hold a candle to when your old friends from before kids start having kids of their own

I let the 2 year old dictate the music while his brother is at school because he misses his older brother. I have now listened to a 1970s album called “big bird leads the band” about 5000 times. I do recommend this album just not 5000 times
