I like five things: books, music, history, Leeds United and some people (the funny brainy open-minded non-racist ones).

I've never really understood this position - outside of football context, ie when wearing a normal shirt in the public square, it becomes just a colour that you might like or not, but no deeper significance.

... if your argument hinges on the political left being more powerful than the world's industrial giants, plus organised enough to fake an entire scientific sector, then your argument is nonsensical.

... it's logical drivel. The other argument made is political, in that it is lefties trying to impose their ideology on the world. There is at least a bit of "the only solution is what I want to happen anyway" angle to climate politics, but have you ever seen the left trying to agree on anything?

... then all the advantage sits with polluters, with oil companies, construction, agriculture, aviation ... there is no big wind - in the energy context - that can outbid the vast majority of our entire industrial infrastructure to fake an entire scientific sector to whatever whatever ...

... but the whole Flat Earth thing is baffling, no-one anywhere is making any money out of pretending the world is a sphere, there is no advantage to anyone in covering up flatness - in the planetary context. Then there's climate change, if we use the same logic and follow the money ...

The thing with hoaxes, or misinformation, is that some have a logic chain. I can see why people might be concerned that vaccines might cause health issues - asking us to trust Big Pharma that a chemical injection is good for you is problematic ... (continues) ...

I'm no nutritionist, but this doesn't scream balanced diet to me. I think the focus of attention should be the kitchen not the bathroom.

This is true of every decent player, it's a constant frustration of not being at the top of the food chain. Yet.

You can see how one thing led to the other, poor powerless Prince left with so few options when selflessly trying to help out his ex-wife.

You can see how AMB was the real victim here, selflessly looking to help his ex-wife out with her debts, he reluctantly raped a load of children. He then went to Pizza Express. It's quite a hero's tale.

I think many people have their opinions ready to go before the game and stick with them come what may.

Ok, I read it, because I normally argue that one shouldn't opine on things one hasn't read ... I still think the same, but ... let's agree not to send thankyou emails? "Britons send 64m ... β€œthanks” emails a day. If we cut back ... we’d save more than 16,433 tonnes of carbon annually"

I can't be bothered to read such a pointless article, an opinion for the sake of an opinion, but surely an entirely harmless way of showing respect to those we pass by in our day-to-day lives is a nice thing that's worth keeping? What do we gain by refusing to thank people for doing their jobs?

No, the only concern is #lufc, I have no interest in our friends from Salford, they are an irrelevance to me, but I do care about us leapfrogging Spurz if at all possible, because that would be hilarious.

I'm so glad we didn't fire Farke and replace him with Dyche #lufc

There's snow everywhere at the Winter Olympics, that's one in the eye for people who believe the global warming hoax.

Yes, he looked like he was heading for the top, not sure what happened, but I think he still has loads of potential. I guess we'll see when he leaves.

I think they should remake The A Team, it was brilliant telly.

They should just get rid of child benefit altogether and use the savings to slash the price of fags.

Yes, framed around the history, philosophy, practices and beliefs of the world's religions.

Had they planned it better - not one of Johnson's stronger suits - they might have included a higher tax code for claiments or something, then it could have been slowly recouped.

Although I'm no fan of Starmer either, I can see why he's pinning everything on growth, there's no other way easy out of the mess.

We're skint because of Brexit, but also we were very exposed in the financial crash and then spaffed zillions in the pandemic on furlough without thinking how it might be paid for - this after decades of under-investment and Thatcher's asset stripping.

03.02.2026 12:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I agree - I think instead of atheism or science (as you rephrased), I'd just say put facts at the centre: here are the facts about religious history, practice and philosophy, and here are the facts about what they believe etc.

Harsh on Struijk, I'd bump him up to useful, and at the moment (but early days) would prefer to keep Gnonto over Okafor.

I guess goalies would be debate, satisfactory, redundant and unknown (you can probably guess the order)'

I'm not overly bothered by Strand Larsen, and fingers crossed he flops at Palace, but it feels complacent as we're still VERY close to the drop and VERY reliant on one or two key players who could get injured at any moment #lufc

This is how Stalinism starts, first it's traffic restrictions in busy cities, next it's the gulags. Don't say you weren't warned.

03.02.2026 06:28 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I feel among Stalin's many crimes against humanity, an Oxford traffic system and an idea to make cities walkable, are low on the list.

For clarity, I am not suggesting we fire Farke because we got thumped by Arsenal, I was mocking myself for panic responses when I see the gap close between #lufc and those below - however, it is also true that my old Farke doubts are drifting back into focus.
