I've never understood how people with money just use it to make more money. I would use it to do cool things that are not super revenue generating but deeply important! Like a small press! Indie media! Low cost childcare and youth activities! Our rich people are so bland.

We've funneled so much autism research and funding towards the scaremongering causes of people like RFK. That is the problem! But a lot of those people are the same ones who are making this argument. They always need another villain.

This division has existed for a very long time. Parents of severely disabled children see functioning autistic adults and it builds grief and resentment. But it's a one-sided divide! Most autistic adults and advocates support funding to help autistic people who aren't able to care for themselves!

This is really dangerous for many of the reasons in this thread. It's also ridiculous because in a child's early years you don't yet know if they will be severely disabled or be able to lead a relatively normal life. More research and more funding is needed, not this divisive rhetoric.

Yeah the trailers had me very hesitant. It's worth a watch, for sure, no The Master-y vibes. I'm also hit and miss on him and I'm not as rapturous on this one as many others but it's one of his better films.

I'm also ridiculously competent and can basically do anything. Which is great when you *have* a job and need to make moves, but ironically it's useless when you are *looking* for a job. Especially in this market.

I've already changed careers, left the workforce because childcare was prohibitively expensive, changed careers again. And now I'm a woman over 40 with a weird resume who doesn't live in a major city. So yeah it's going great!

This week hits 6 months unemployed. And I'm pretty sure if I looked at statistics about what that means for my chances of getting a job it would be very very bad.
