oh, I missed the uncommitted part, yeah stash before and stash pop after rebasing, but git should complain if you have uncommitted changes when rebasing

yeah, it only changes commit ids(hashes) if it's only changing the commit message, btw if anything bad happens on rebases you can always do git reflog to figure out the previous HEAD commit and git reset --hard to that previous commit, to restore the previous state
