Are you defending the children shouting abuse?
02.10.2025 10:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Farage blamed 'antifa' for the attack on Reform UK. In so far as it exists at all in the UK, antifa is a tiny fringe movement, largely dormant, which few British people have heard of. It is, however, a regular target of Donald Trump, the master of grievance politics.
'He doesn't like this country'
Starmer said "Britain stands at a fork in the road. We can choose decency or division... A country proud of its values.. or one that succumbs.. to the politics of grievance."
It was ironic that Nigel Farage's response was to express grievance at the way he had been characterised.
What does his party affiliation have to do with it?
27.09.2025 11:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It would be good if people read the article before commenting. This is not a puff for AI, its about which jobs are vulnerable. It's not going away whatever we might like
26.09.2025 16:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Precisely the point. It's sucking out intelligence
26.09.2025 16:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0From Focaldata. How first past the post works in a five party world. Government elected by 30% of voters (perhaps less than 20% of electorate) is not democracy, and is a recipe for division.
22.09.2025 12:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One party thinks all the problems will be solved by controlling migration. Another thinks it will be solved by dissociating ourselves from Israel. Neither will make a difference to the lives of most British people. So why do they dominate our politics?
22.09.2025 07:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We have an increaslingly bizarre politics dominated by two strange parties, each with only a single, unachievable, policy. For 'Our Party' its Gaza. For Reform UK Ltd its irregular migration. Neither policy will make any difference to most people's lives. Yet voters seem willing to support them.
22.09.2025 06:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No. She produces the estimate that I used. But she says that there is insufficient evidence of the ethnic makeup of perpetrators.
07.09.2025 18:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This was a complex issue, and it seems a lawyer out of his/her depth. I see no reason to doubt that this was an honest mistake. She has admitted it, is paying what is owed, and has referred herself to the proper authority to rule on whether she has broken the ministerial code. Nothing to see here.
03.09.2025 18:09 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0But the tier of French local government he describes has no responsibility for education or social care, which form the majority of UK local government spending.
03.09.2025 08:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But surely making it possible to easily establish whether someone is entitled to work is a good thing to do.
03.09.2025 08:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0BBC poorly informed. The aim was as much about accountability as savings. 300,000 was not the target size. The county councils are hardly objective commentators. And the French comparison is chalk and cheese.
03.09.2025 08:18 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0She is not investigating anything. She has done that and reported. She has recommended that ethnicity data should be systematically recorded to ensure that false narratives can be debunked. Not top of the list, but politically very important.
03.09.2025 08:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0any evidence?
03.09.2025 07:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0But in England 75% of local government expenditure is education, social care and policing. None of these are in your French model because they are provided in different ways.
And the Rayner plan, with a single authority responsible for everything, makes accountability much clearer.
To clarify. Casey is clear that there is reason to investigate the link between ethnicity and grooming gangs, but the evidence to date is inconclusive.
Last year there were 1800 reports of violent or sexual crimes in Epping. Three associated with the Bell Hotel residents - no convictions to date.
I mention it precisely because there is no evidence. As I say on this is what Lowe is claiming, and he is feeding a right wing narrative. But Casey says there is no evidence either way as yet.
01.09.2025 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Last year there were 1300 reports of violent or sexual crimes in Epping. Three (?) were allegedly carried out by an asylum seeker. This is not about 'protecting our women and children' eastangliabylines.co.uk/politics/loc...
31.08.2025 07:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Last year 1,300 violent or sexual offences were reported to the police in Epping. Perhaps three were allegedly carried out by an asylum seeker. The protests are not about protecting 'our women and children' .

13.08.2025 11:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So you don't believe in enforcing the law? Read what he said.
13.08.2025 11:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 1Enforcing the law has always been a core Labour value.
13.08.2025 11:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What he is saying has no relevance to her case. Presumably she came on a care visa, so she is not a foreign criminal.
13.08.2025 11:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How is it appeasing anyone to say we will enforce the law?
13.08.2025 11:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Glad to see that the government is building water planning into the planning of its AI strategy.
