Made my own take on the Bindicator project I've seen shared elsewhere. It's based on a Pi (of course), and scrapes the council's bin website.

It refreshes automatically once a day, or manually with the button, and on the night I need to take the bins out, it flashes and flaps the relevant bin.

If anyone knows someone after a donor, lots of good bits on it. Engine and box are good. Interior would clean up.

Engine and gearbox are good, rear subframe looks a bit suspect. Steers on the throttle a bit which I think might be tracking. Cosmetically very tatty, but solid (sills welded laser year with Mike Satur panels). Hood is terrible. Headlights are also terrible.

So, MGF now has new rear discs and pads, nearside hub replaced, but unfortunately it still isn't driving right. I lack the time and talent to fix this car.

Before I weigh it in, does anybody want it? Would happily take scrap value (under £150)for it. MOT until May, I think. @mattfd.bsky.social?

My mum's had about 5 of them. The last one was rudely assailed by a tree limb last year- very probably saved her life. Clever seats too, fuel tank is under the front seats so very configurable. Soporific to drive, but very well thought out.

A friend a few years younger than me is visiting the Museum of Computing History today and sent me this picture. I think it might be a demarcation line between elder and younger millennial nerds that he chose the Windows 98 box to send rather than the fully operational BBC Domesday setup next to it!
