Movie theaters forever

Of course it isn’t funny—it’s maddening and pathetic. It won’t really be notable again though until he actually drops over on camera, at which point MAGA will valorize him for it, claiming it’s only the natural consequence of A Godlike Hero working 21 hours a day to save the entire world.

I avoid those served-at-your-seat venues like the plague! And to tell the truth I have a better-than-average experience w audiences at movies (good movies, anyway)—so yea, to my mind (some) theaters are as much to blame these days for our poorer “cinema culture” as anybody else.

It’s one thing to acknowledge the truth of times-that-are-changin’, but that Lawrence aside….just 🤮

Aside from the insane amount of time, the part that truly infuriates me is when they show the “put your phone away & be quiet now, here comes the movie” bit, and then POW, up comes *another* 15 minutes of commercials, trailers, so on.

It’s like they’re *training* people to ignore the request.

When his entire party has control of the mechanisms that would hold him to account and/or remove him from office, and they fail to make use of them to do so -- that, more than the man himself, is the even greater danger.

Early prediction but I think maybe Best Picture race might be over. It has a style (especially in the final sequence) that’s not quite realism that you can either get on board with or not, I could. Certainly enough to see how well it works & how much it will SLAY general audiences & leave em weeping
