I'm still here on earth.

30.07.2025 16:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Was infected. Stayed in ER for 9 hours. Followed with podiatrist visit a couple of days later. I have a quarter-sized wound on my left big toe that needs to be watched closely, and hopefully heal.
On the bright side, the nerve pinch/muscle agony finally went away.
But now I'm off to hospital for possible leg and toe infection, since I'm diabetic. Meh. Should be home in a few hours, he said, trusting he's not jinxing himself.

I've been immobilized in bed in immense pain with piriformis syndrome, a kind of pinched nerve & spasming muscle -- along with a severe digestive tract issue, and I lost the Bluesky password on my phone. I've literally been unable to sit on a chair since my last post here.

09.06.2025 19:43 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The problem with reading history practically every day for 50 years is I constantly wind up wiping my brow & saying things like "people have forgotten Gertrude Berg? Really? Jeebus. How fucking ignorant of 'em."
Probably it helps to be Jewish, grow up in Brooklyn & have read lots of 1950s history.

Illinois Congresswoman and notorious bigot Mary Miller posted an Islamophobic tweet this morning, realized she had made a mistake, and then posted an anti-Sikh tweet.
She has since deleted the anti-Sikh tweet.
People often ask me how they can help libraries. The 1st thing you can do, after getting your library card, is follow and read Kellyβs censorship news. Know the players and know the game. Itβs the same all across the U.S. Knowledge is power. Then you will know where to start in your own community.
