Sherwood Forest in Robin McKinley’s The Outlaws of Sherwood was so vivid to me as a teenager. It made me fall in love with a trail to a magical creek near where I grew up (in the Montana Rockies).

This is the workshop that (along with a dream and some geophysics hyperfixation) inspired me to write the Broken Earth trilogy! I loved it.
