Seem to have picked up another bloody cold from somewhere but Self Esteem at the Brighton Centre tonight was the best medicine.

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

A solid triple bill today at #lff - Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein; A Useful Ghost about a haunted vacuum and so much more; and queer French coming of age movie Enzo 🎬

Kicking off #LFF today with Wake Up Dead Man and Twinless. Really enjoyed both, Wake Up Dead Man especially worth catching with a crowd on the big screen.

Seeing Alien on the big screen in a packed cinema was a great way to spend a Tuesday night. Everyone knows they're coming, but the jump scares still get you. Not so sure about getting home after they've turned the street lights off 😬

Somehow winning the pub quiz, with my heroic husband turning up at the last minute and somehow getting a question right to separate us from second place.

Never get tired of watching Blade Runner and seeing it for the first time on the big screen, on the biggest screen in the UK, was epic.

I think I've got a weekend binge coming. I'm seeing Alien on the big screen in a couple of weeks so it's the perfect warm up for that.

Staying in a beautiful converted church, but all the windows are stained so having to guesstimate the weather based on the light shining in and whether it would like the cars are driving past on wet roads.

We've just published the evaluation of our year-long trial of a reduced 32 hour working week.

It's had huge mental health benefits across the board, but especially for those with caring responsibilities or health concerns.

A nice couple of days up in Glasgow welcoming a new member to the team. But I do not have much luck with this train line. Looking like it's going to be about 10 hours door to door by the time I make it home. πŸ˜’ Though I shouldn't count my chickens...

I don't know if I could've done that if I needed to travel further or take calls from home when living in a shared house. Samaritans have always evolved, and this'll be the next stage of that, but the connection between vols, and with callers, has been the heart of it. I'd be sad if that gets lost.

Samaritans to close more than 100 branches The charity's chief executive says

Sams are obviously under the same pressures as many of us in the charity sector are - trying to plug the gaps with increasing costs and falling incomes. But this is a real shame. My life would be unrecognisable if I hadn't volunteered at my local branch 20 odd years ago
