Like, that's just the actual "traditional" view of gender. Biology as we know it is a 19th century invention, which was not at play in how we decided how to structure and use language about gender originally.

Another thing bugging me in all this, we defined gender in English terms based on social roles and clothing in the middle ages. Long before we knew about gametes or how reproductive organs worked or about chromosomes or hormones. It was always all vibes.
