I hope everyone is limiting themselves to just two dolls this Christmas. Don't be greedy.

10.12.2025 00:47 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A view of my studio corner. On the left a 12x16 panel is on a wooden easel. An urban street scene is sketched in purple. On the right is a larger panel hung on the wall. Trees are sketched in dark green. The top portion sky is painted blue. Between them three reference photos are taped to the wall. Beneath the photos is my open paintbox with an aluminum pizza pan palette on top.
The studio as I left it tonight. Two new works underway, one urban winter scene, one wilderness autumn view. I'll use different tools and palettes for each of them. I enjoy going back and forth between them.

White gessoed panel on a wooden easel. 12x16, vertical. Sketch in bright violet of a woman in a Hudsonโs Bay coat walking down a snowy alleyway between 1 storey brick warehouses.
I started something new in the studio today. That bright violet sketch will keep it from turning into a dull grey snowy day as I work.

An outline of a naked woman is embroidered on linen in the same bone white colour as the linen. She stands legs together, her right hand covering her groin, her left hand, palm up, extended slightly to her side. She looks to the right. Her entire body except for her belly is covered in intricate markings representing different neurological sensations. Her face is a mask of green lines, feathery grey lines cover her shoulders and chest. There is a thick band of intricate burgundy stitching around her waist. Her forearms and hands are covered in thick blue undulant lines. Her right leg has bands of burgundy along the muscles, with small dots around them. Her inner left leg has a thick line of blue running up it, with thin branches spreading towards her outer leg.

09.12.2025 16:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Destination 36x40, Oil on wood panel A large painting 36x40, horizontal. A closely cropped view of a colourful sunrise. In the bottom right corner is bright yellow sun. Pink clouds break it up, moving into darker pink as it rises in the sky. The clouds give way to dark blue sky behind.
Photo of this morning's sunrise. In the foreground is an urban neighbourhood silhouetted - trees, smokestacks, low buildings and houses. the sky is bright orange at the horizon with a ball of yellow sun. Clouds streak across the sky, eventually breaking over dark blue sky.
Day 9 of #ArtAdventCalendar This morning's sunrise reminded me of this painting from 2017. The view of the sky from my new condo inspired me to return to painting after a 25 yr hiatus and I painted the sky almost exclusively for a few years. #TheSkyIsMyMuse
09.12.2025 16:04 โ ๐ 19 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Photo of a sunrise over an urban neighbourhood. trees, houses and a few smokestacks are silhouetted across the bottom. The sun is a bright yellow ball at the horizon with a band of orange across the horizon. Then it breaks up into clouds that are pink, then streaks of blue sky through it. Near the top the clouds are rolling with the sun catching deep blue/purple clouds with areas of deep pink.
I opened my eyes this morning and my usually white cat was pink. My white sheets were pink too. My whole room was pink. I turned over and saw this! It's like a peacock opened its tail across the sky.

A loose, expressive watercolor and ink illustration of a hare facing forward. The hare has tall, upright ears with light brown and grey shading, and long, delicate whiskers extending far out from its cheeks. Its eyes are small and dark, giving it a curious, gentle expression. The body is sketched with quick, fluid ink lines, filled in with soft washes of brown, grey, and touches of pink. The background is a blend of muted pastel colorsโpale greens, yellows, and peach tonesโcreating a dreamy, atmospheric backdrop that contrasts with the detailed face. The overall style feels playful and slightly whimsical, with visible brush textures on the watercolor paper.

08.12.2025 23:13 โ ๐ 40 ๐ 9 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0But it is not 'freedom' Poilievre and his Conservative Party REALLY stand for or want; instead what they REALLY are after - in cahoots with the corporate class - is a world based on a privatized, deregulated sort of industrial serfdom, where workers have little say, few rights and - poor pay.
10/10
And it's why Poilievre opposes government generally; it can legislate in worker's favour, which PP sees as interference to corporate desire to nickle and dime workers. Using this bullshit, Poilievre declares himself as a defender of "freedom" against "big government tyranny" blah blah blah..
9/ 10
It also explains Poilievre's opposition to things like alternative energy - there are millions of good paying renewable alternative energy jobs already and millions more to come - but Poilievre opposes that because he wants Canadians desperate for any job they can get - the cheaper the better.
8/10
Bottom Line;
Poilievre's conservatives greatly believe in social hierarchy and privilege, demanding that any and all prosperity is limited to the top percentile (kickbacks) and want nothing to 'trickle' to or to benefit the working man - or more often the woman - who works for an hourly wage.
7/10
Poilievre has voted against every pro-union initiative for 20 years; corporations don't like unions, so Poilievre can't either. Because when workers stick together and unionize, wages tend to improve. Seems workers don't really want Pierre Poilievre and corporations to hold them over a barrel.
