For the ninth straight month now, Canadian road trips to the United States continue to plunge. Boycott the U.S.A. Elbows up!

The only way for Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ to survive the Trump fiasco is with PM Carney as leader at this time and place.

We may not always agree with his policies and actions but consider the alternative.

My groceries from this morning. Clockwise from 12:00 Two large mangos, a dozen eggs, two custard tarts, one croissant, a baked vegetable pot pie (6:00), two avocados, a pile of small potatoes, a plie of larger potatoes, a 1kg jar of plain yogurt, a baggie of white cheese curds.

Big surprise at the St. Lawrence Market this morning - A puffball! I haven't seen one of these since the 1980s. Back in the 1960s we'd find them growing wild in the woods. I don't like them (πŸ„β€πŸŸ«πŸ€’) so I left it for someone who will appreciate this delicacy.

PM Carney on the National School Food Program:

"No child should go to school hungry or sit in a classroom all day wondering where their next meal will come from... Until today, this program was a pilot..so, we're announcing we'll move forward with the funding and legislation to make it permanent."

We really need to put to rest the myth that Conservatives are good for the economy. They've consistently inherited surpluses and left us in deficits. They make bad financial decisions while cutting back on services to Canadians. They've never been good for the economy.

In case you haven't seen it, some thoughts from our Industry Minister today. Some good news for steel, aluminium, & we're just getting started:
β€’new orders for Algoma steel to πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ navy shipyards East & West Coast
β€’orders for aluminium (Q1-4% to EU; Q2-57% to EU)

Conservatives move to restrict birthright citizenship in Canada | National Immigration experts argue that restricting birthright citizenship would "create a second class of people in Canada."

Whole painting of a swirling, churning sky over a city skyline along the bottom edge. The skyline is dark, catching glints of orange light coming from the sun which is setting out of view to the right. The sky is deep blue at the horizon, with rough texture morphing into green, then orange then purple with flecks of pink and eventually paler green and blue.
The mood is turbulence and some tension of the raging sky over the unsuspecting city.

This is a painting from a time in my life when the stock market and business world dictated my schedule. Taking a moment to admire the sunset was an act of rebellion, stealing time. The raging sky over a city that thinks it's important.

Crunch a bag of chips, preferably low salt Ruffles, into small pieces, pour it in a bowl. Dump a whole container of onion dip into the bowl, stir till each piece of chip has some dip on it. Take it to the couch and eat with a fork in front of the tv.

I do this. I go through the farce of putting a cover over the open can and putting it in the fridge "for tomorrow" but then take it out for "one more spoonful" a few minutes later. Repeat till the can is empty.
