LOL. We went to the show because my brother-in-law said we had to. We left after a couple TT songs because we weren’t impressed and the crowd was awful, especially in a small club (Slim’s in SF, RIP).

But… I gave their new album a spin, and I really enjoyed it!

This is my problem too. Plus, I saw him open for Turnpike years ago, and he felt like a novelty act. Not sure how much was my bias vs his stage presence TBH.

My husband and I have been loving Tidal. The higher quality is so refreshing. We kinda forgot what music is supposed to sound like.

S.G. Goodman’s album is the best by a Kentucky songwriter so far this year, by a wide margin.

I’d like less focus on electoral politics and more focus on getting shit done. Like maybe effectively doing anything to block Project 2025? Mid-terms are too far away.

Truth

Definitely not after being Persephone on Broadway. Her live show changed so much after that. Exciting things to come, I am certain!

My favorite thing about the album is the fact that she finds beauty in the struggle and the second half shows her coming out the other side with joy. Then to follow it up with “The Returner”, which is all about the community she’s built, was the brilliant master stroke.

Why mention the police officer but not disclose the occupation of the other victims?

“Off-duty police officer”. We don’t do that with other professions. Off-duty surgeon? Off-duty teacher? The other dead people likely had jobs too.
