Great pleasure to write this review to show it, with @jrpenades.bsky.social @dbikard.bsky.social Kim Seed & John Chen.
Two more weeks to apply to join us in Paris !

Our latest work: how can compartmentalization emerge in a eukaryotic genome lacking canonical heterochromatin?
By investigating bacterial genomes put in yeast, we show that the presence or absence of transcription is sufficient!

Here's a project with surprising results: we show the presence of virulent phages across bacterial genome assemblies. Not any phage, and not your typical T1 contaminant, many phages have large genomes and seem to be in a state of persistence/oscillation (?!) between lysogeny and the lytic cycle.
