To wit, they’re mostly looking at nuclear plants. The AI companies want consistency on their power availability; it’d be cool to see a solar/battery setup but nuclear probably makes more sense at this moment. I’m pretty negative on AI fwiw but what they’re doing with power cos is interesting.

The new move is to build these things inside the perimeter of the plant so that they’re not grid connected. It’s the reason why companies like Constellation have seen their stock soar in the last ~year and a half.

I feel like this is a stalking horse for never doing anything about the problem of trading on material nonpublic information. I would love to see pushback on a common sense bill that e.g., defined you all as SEC access persons and set an excessive trading threshold and minimum holding periods.

Why not filter these in the client, as a fan of stacked hacks 😉

It’s weird because they’re interviewing single person business owners and one sort of bewildering story that seems half-told. And then quoting someone with an HR background that clearly interpreted it as taking extended time off between jobs.

You’re right but the republicans will also harm more people without reconciliation. They would have with this bill if not for the parliamentarian and reconciliation. So that’s the rub. If Dems cross the rubicon they better use it to make the party wildly popular.

A Democrat who opposes direct intervention strongly will win the nomination in 2028 if it comes to pass. And direct intervention here will almost certainly be unpopular by the time it matters.
