Walking my dog, saw some strange lights over houses. They were moving in unison, but not like drones. When I rounded the bend in the road, it was clear. Some families were sending paper balloons in the sky, and I got to see it.

There were a couple reports of drone activity on the 'hood listserv.

What was the cinema run on Buckaroo Banzai? I can't imagine I had access to it, but I was an early adopter when HBO was new. My best would probably be Raiders of the Lost Ark as a kid at the local drive-in (counts in my mind, it was our first chance at seeing it), and Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.

I don't think I would have been able to pick it out, but the lead that Trey finds here is worth a listen just because he is obviously fascinated by it in the moment.

The doorbell in my 70's era house was connected with a central unit that served as an intercom system, as well as being able to play radio throughout the house. When that crapped out, so did the doorbell, and I never replaced it. Nobody bothers to knock, so peaceful.

AI found nothing more about this specific poster, or Dave Grieve. Wild.

So, I decided to watch Hunger Games for the first time tonight. In the first three minutes, JL comforts a younger girl who is having trouble sleeping. She says she has to go out, puts on her jacket, and it's daytime? I'm gonna keep watching, but come on.

To be clear, it's just a quality poster, not even a screen-print, and definitely not numbered.

It doesn't seem possible that this is the world's only record of Dave Grieve's art.

It still exists, last I checked, but not in the same location, and didn't carry the same je ne sais quoi.

Sorry for the low quality of pictures. It's hung up high in my kitchen. I didn't want to take it down, and the overhead lights mess with my efforts.

Another cool thing is there are many pictures of 5/12/74 online, and it's clear this is a direct representation of that day. I am asking you about it, because even if you don't know anything about it, you might be able to point me towards others who do.

I have tried several times to search up more details, but no luck. Pretty surprised I've never run across something similar, if not the same print. There is a Canadian oil painter named David Grieve, who appears to be much too young to have done this, which confounds things.

Well, it's related in my mind. My dad bought me this poster from the finest head shop/eclectic music store in Sioux Falls, SD twenty-some years ago. I love it for many reasons, but how the artist chose to portray the actual experience you referred to is fantastic.

I have been meaning to ask you about something relating to this for a while, but can't get into it atm. I hope to check back this evening.

This vid appearing on Night Flight as my friends and I were beginning our journey of high culture exploration was very formative. I acquired a cassette of the Rhythm Killers album soon after.

They are trying to throw the Clintons in jail over this, currently, which is somehow much more important than following signed law to produce all the evidence a month ago.

I got to see Watt later, which was awesome, but I was never able to put it together to see fIREHOSE live, despite them being a significant part of the soundtrack of my youth. I blame myself, I had chances. Finding this vid is some comfort.
