Will the new Pebbles require Google Play Services to run or can you use them on a de-googled Android?

@ericmigi.com I have a de-googled Pixel, and a Light Phone 3 that is running bare Android, (and a few other free-from-Google Androids). No Google Play Services but can sideload apks and have access to the Aurora Store.

Do the new Pebbles require Google Play Services or just the app?

- Libby, Kobo, Kindle for reading
- Duolingo, Drops, Babbel, Memrise because I’m addicted to language learning lol

I’m using US Mobile for both phones which makes it affordable enough to keep both lines active. Their Light plan is like $10/mo and my data plan is $20/mo.

I don’t love the GPS on the LPI, it’s way too slow to be usable while driving.

Same! I’m still on the fence on if I believe it’s real or not. I think it might ship eventually after a couple more months of delays.

I just hope either Mudita or Minimal manages to make e-ink Android smoother than the Boox Palma or Bigme Hibreak. Both of those were so buggy lol

This is essential stuff.For those of us who are not gonna be organizers in the traditional sense.There are many strategies listed here that are ways to build communities that are robust, connected, & capable of protection/action that are also sources of pleasure & joy(undersung political resources).

The only app I check every single morning. It helps with some medical PTSD where I worry things are wrong too much, so checking my vitals from over night reminds me that I’m doing great.
