something abled people don't get is you can have just one day a week where you are too sick to work, and that's enough to disqualify you from nearly all full-time jobs. it doesn't take a lot

You can completely uninstall/disable copilot on Windows. Your system and local search will run faster afterward. www.howtogeek.com/how-to-rip-o...

Exactly! Excuse me while I use my body as a science experiment. I also love having friends who are trained in like anthropology and human anatomy because I can make them poke things my joints do and enjoy their reactions. Like hey am I supposed to be able to like consciously move my SI joints? Lol

I cannot fathom what this feels like, and now very much want to feel this.

Last fall, I planted three or four defunct landscaped areas of my yard with mixes of native wildflower and meadow plants. My neighborhood is sterile and boring has and very few pollinators.

The seedlings are starting to grow and I’m out there daily, willing them to grow like I’m in Totoro.

I get this comment from massage therapists so often. 😂 normally when they’re figuring out how to get the release they want without putting my joints into hyperextension… I didn’t even know how much laxity I had for a long time until they started commenting on it!

I was really lucky and that we have someone who is a physical therapist locally who specializes in circus artists. Absolutely fantastic for helping figure out strength and Security outside of normal range of motion.

New bill to fix the issues with the original bill, and you’d think the sky is falling by the way it’s being messaged. It makes it so clear that informing the public accurately is a real secondary concern compared to succeeding at political goals.

Is this helpful? Ehhh. Is it productive? It doesn’t often help me get what I want. Is it cathartic as hell? Yes.

At this point, I’ve just gotten to where I make skeptical doctors palpate the rib that is really out of place in my upper chest, both elevated and rotated like a bucket handle. It’s super springy when compressed. That normally horrifies them enough to make them stop arguing with me about laxity.

you've never read a description of a video that completely lived up to the actual video than this.

Got it! Misread your thread a little and was excited to info-dump. :)

If you’re dealing with VOC issues, there’s some Moldex N95 models that have nuisance odor filtration built in. Not respirator filter strong but still helpful, if you find a good fit with the rigid cup shaped masks.

I am more and more convinced that when cis people want to debate whether trans people get human rights, the only correct response is "I don't treat whether or not people get human rights as a debate topic or hang around people who do" followed by leaving.

Ah, the fun hyper-mobility spectrum where you might have generalized laxity but not EDS or anything meeting diagnostic criteria so doctors don’t believe you. If you’re reasonably sure that’s good enough tbh, you live in the meatsuit every day.

Super heavy-duty filters or elastomerics can be A Lot for daily use depending on your risk assessment (heavier, sweaty, etc) but if you live somewhere that has a smoke season now and have lung problems they’re a lifesaver.

Oh man or when they laugh with you and then feeling insensitive and absolutely freak out because they don’t want you to think they’re laughing at your pain… when it’s like, why do you think I’m telling jokes, bud?

This is in fact a thing they do! (For me it’s a tracking issue, can be due to muscle imbalance or my bones being in the wrong place).

The nice thing about the elastomeric respirators is they’re made for industrial safety applications, so they have a lot of more extensive filters than commercial and 95s. You can get filters that are not only P100 but also filter VOCs and other chemicals from wildfire smoke.

At this point I don't even care if people have use cases for AI services that they can justify, those companies are causing so much harm and disrespect that I'm not into it because I can't get over that.

I had to explain to my family very patiently at one point that I’m not pausing when you ask me to do something because I don’t want do it and I’m trying to find something polite to say - I’m running a really quick diagnostics to make sure I can actually do it safely right now. **Please stand by.**

A patient? Knowing the correct medical terminology for the location and symptom?? Le gasp, it can’t be so. (Yay that he believed you, though).

Ughghgh I’m going to have to write about big cat politics again aren’t I? Every single statement and media piece I’ve seen is just… either full of disinformation or absolutely not fact-checked for accuracy.

Sigh. Back to big cat brain it is, explainer coming soon.

Jeeeez I’m glad your wife could advocate for you but that’s so frustrating.

That… pause? to evaluate always freaks people out. Maybe everything is fine! Maybe it’s an injury! Please shut up so I can listen to my proprioception and figure it out. I have to find the signal in the constant noise!
