A wonderful book, this:

At least once a week pre-baby, less often after that

I enjoyed Of Mice and Men when I was taught it at school πŸ₯²

He fundamentally understands that the path to influence hangs on broadcast media, so puts all his focus on that. Maddeningly few leftwing figures seem to understand this.

He was a monster in many ways, but Churchill's staunch "do not appease the Nazis" policy is arguably relevant here.

They really hate each other

I reckon over the past decade I have been sexually harassed ten times more often inside the Palace of Westminster than I have on London streets

At 36, and so presumably one of the youngest people watching it (I've just had a baby), having the youngest acts aimed at my generation seems about right to me

I think there is a (literally) silent majority who think it's weird to post your opinions every day

A bit problematic to lust after caged lady bears imo, and Paddington seems to be a good egg. We don't see it on screen, but when he's alone at night he could well be masturbating furiously.

I would read as asexual if I was adopted by bears and only ever spent time in bear society

Oh fuck it's Deep Impact 😬

They are cheeky lads! Going out of their way to avoid giving things the gravitas they deserve is their whole deal!

Is this one of those things where a Californian tech company assumes you're driving everywhere rather than walking about with your phone in your pocket?

This is 100% on purpose

A few cinemas near me (South London) do bring-your-baby screenings in the morning. Low volumes, babies welcome and your ticket comes with free cake.

Add it to scrambled eggs or mashed potatoes

I think you're right about really bad behaviour - the difference is even when Americans behave normally on their travels everyone in the vicinity can hear them being really American

I love that Sons of Kemet record so much

This is it. I've not been calling for wholesale changes, just to try one glaringly obvious change at least once.

Sacking Brendan made sense because Klopp was available. Not sure what the equivalent would be here

if microsoft just made outlook search not suck they'd see triple the productivity gains of any AI integration

Nope :-(

The "AI target" has got the headline, but the interesting bit is where they're matching schools with similar aspects to share best practice. I suspect that's the bit where AI is pulling it's weight

Yep

I run a polling station every election - it's clear to me that many adults are not prepared to vote (but I'm glad they're turning up anyway!) so I don't see why 16 year olds deserve all this scrutiny of their abilities

10.11.2025 08:29 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

They're designed for the cold, with the assumption that you'll heat it all day

It was so stark and so encouraging - have we only not being playing him there to fit in Gakpo?

04.11.2025 22:47 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Completely agree. I wasn't super upset about him leaving: I'm 36, I'm too long in the tooth. If I was there sure I'd be booing, with gusto! It's nearly panto season ffs

04.11.2025 21:50 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Given that when we talked about mixed gender adult children we always end up with an awkward construction like "grown-up children" or something I think it's just something English isn't currently equipped for. Maybe it's appropriate to refer to them as so-and-so's eldest/youngest?
